Longwell Partners is a premiere pro-democracy communications firm responsible for running some of the most high-profile campaigns of the 2024 campaign cycle. We run full-service communications outreach efforts on behalf of clients including Republican Voters Against Trump — our flagship 2024 campaign — The Bulwark, Republican Accountability Project, and Republicans for Ukraine.

The firm is headed by veteran political strategist Sarah Longwell, who has been credited as one of the most insightful observers of trends driving the electorate today. Her efforts focus on identifying persuadable conservative-leaning undecided voters, and reaching them with ad content tailor-made to drive support for pro-democracy candidates.

Republican Voters Against Trump is the primary vehicle for our 2024 campaign work. RVAT has created hundreds of testimonial videos from former Trump voters who will not vote for him again this year. With Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket, we are quickly revamping our content to reflect the new political environment. Interns will support RVAT’s testimonial production team, coordinate with our grassroots network, and film Zoom interviews with former Trump voters who will vote against him this November.

This is a paid, fully in-person internship opportunity working out of our office in downtown DC. Ideal candidates will have full-time availability, Monday to Friday 9 am – 6 pm. Those interested should submit a resume and cover letter describing why they are interested in working with us, along with their earliest possible start date and a breakdown of the days/hours they would be available, to [email protected].

Day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

  • Speaking to former Trump voters in order to create video testimonials of them explaining why they are not voting for him in 2024
  • Editing testimonial videos to create short, punchy, compelling content for social media and ads
  • Building media lists of reporters to reach out to to promote our campaign
  • Reaching out to reporters and managing inbound media requests
  • Updating our website with new content and identifying opportunities for promotion
  • Staffing events and promoting them to help drive turnout

Ideal candidates will have the following skills:

  • Commitment to supporting and protecting democracy from election deniers and other threats, regardless of how the candidate identifies politically
  • Interest in and knowledge of current trends in politics and media, especially the 2024 election
  • Ability to work in-person in downtown Washington, D.C.
  • Ability to learn fast, follow instructions, and manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • A self-starter mindset and eagerness to volunteer and take the lead on projects
